Set Photography
A fly on the wall watching people at work
Now you see me, now you don't
E very now and then I am being asked to take some pictures on film or commercial sets. While these scenarios very often provide opportunity to capture something unique, it most definitely pleases the voyeuristic narcissist in me. Because on a filmset, everybody is concerned about the big camera, nobody pays attention to the small one. In other words, it provides free rein for the fly on the wall to go unnoticed, while releasing the shutter quietly.
And sometimes I ask to visit a set with my camera…as in this case for Wiener Zucker, courtesy of Demner & Merlicek, and Filmhaus Wien.

Euro Million Lottery was shooting their next commercial in Miami. And my friend’s production company produced the gig. One more opportunity to snap photos on the set during filming. When all was done and the sun set over fabulous South Beach, we put the photographs together in a book as a memento to three great days at the beach. Here is the book.
‘It is more important to click with people than to click the shutter.’
