Float like a feather in the breeze
Put on your dancing shoes and dance
A quiet peek at the intense rehearsal of the Vienna State Opera’s Corps des Ballet. They were in the midst of preparing for an external presentation of a new dance piece under the watchful eye of their choreographer.
These pictures were taken at the beginning of July during their summer break. While everybody else rested, this group of dancers prepared for an intense summer tour throughout Europe. Allowing their fatigued bodies to find much needed rest seemed a rather distant thought.

The body as a piece of art, and in motion. Alba, Becks, and Gabor, then dancers of the Vienna State Opera, joined us at the studio for a photoshoot aptly titled ‘Bodies in Motion’ for a local dance magazine.
It was a worthy conclusion to an eventful week of photographing dancers.
‘You don’t have to know about ballet to enjoy it, all you have to do is look at it.’
